9:00 AM - Arrive at Work
You arrive at work and start your day by checking your email and calendar for any important updates or meetings. You may also check any messages on Slack or other communication channels.
9:30 AM - Social Media Monitoring and Engagement
One of the key aspects of digital marketing is social media. You begin your day by monitoring your company’s social media accounts, responding to comments and direct messages, and engaging with the audience. You may also schedule social posts for the day or week ahead, ensuring that the content is on brand and aligns with the marketing strategy. As digital marketers, one of your key responsibilities will likely be social media monitoring and engagement. Social media platforms have become a crucial part of any digital marketing strategy, as they allow companies to connect with their target audience, promote their brand, and build a loyal following in this creative industry.
11:00 AM - SEO Audit and Analysis
You may also be tasked with performing an SEO audit and analysis. This involves reviewing the website’s content, identifying any technical issues, and analyzing the website’s ranking on search engines. You may use tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Ahrefs to conduct this analysis. It’s another important aspect of digital marketing that you may be responsible for (Search Engine Optimisation) audit and analysis. SEO refers to the process of optimizing a website to rank higher on search engine results pages (SERPs), driving more traffic to the website and increasing its visibility to potential customers.
12:30 PM - Lunch Break
You take a break for lunch to recharge and step away from the computer. You may choose to eat with your colleagues or take a walk to get some fresh air. Taking a lunch break is an important part of your day. It’s a chance to step away from your computer, recharge your batteries, and socialise with your colleagues.
1:30 PM - Email Marketing Campaigns
Email marketing is another crucial aspect of digital marketing. You may be tasked with creating and executing email marketing campaigns that target specific audiences. This involves crafting compelling subject lines, designing email templates, and analyzing open and click-through rates. Email marketing involves sending promotional emails to customers or subscribers with the goal of driving traffic and sales to the website. Here’s an overview of the tasks involved in email marketing campaigns as an apprentice.
3:00 PM - Content Creation
Digital marketing also involves creating content writing that engages and informs your audience. You may be tasked with creating blog posts, social media posts, infographics, or videos. At the end of the day, you wrap up any outstanding day tasks and plan for the next day. You may update your to-do list, review your calendar, and check in with your supervisor or colleagues.
I have found as a digital marketing apprentice, your days can be varied and dynamic. From social media engagement to content creation to SEO analysis, you’ll have the opportunity to learn a wide range of digital marketing skills.
