1:1 Coaching sessions & E-learning
At the start of your
IT Apprenticeship in Manchester, you will be assigned a tutor who will be your main NowSkills contact point. Your tutor will keep in regular contact with you making monthly workplace visits and acting as an intermediary with the employer. In addition, your tutor will give you access to a range of online learning platforms such as LinkedIn Learning and U-certify. With these learning resources, you’ll be able to study all aspects of IT and develop your skills further.
Building a Portfolio
As an IT Apprentice in Manchester, you’ll work on building a portfolio that will be used in your End-point Assessment. The portfolio will cover the tasks you’ve been doing at work and will record how you’ve used your growing skills and knowledge in the workplace. Your portfolio allows you to showcase your very best work and also allows you to demonstrate how you have applied your IT knowledge and understanding in a real-work environment to achieve real-work objectives.
End-Point Assessment
The difference between Standards and Frameworks is that Standards require you to complete an End-Point Assessment. The End Point Assessment takes place toward the end of the apprenticeship, usually in the last 2-3 months. We’ll help prepare you – don’t worry! Your End-Point Assessment is made up 4 different parts which include an Apprentice portfolio, an employer reference, a synoptic project and an interview with the End-Point Assessor. However, End-Point Assessments can only take place when any compulsory classroom, online and vendor qualification learning is completed.
Completion & progression
Woohoo! Once you’ve completed your End-point Assessment, you will have successfully completed your IT Apprenticeship in Manchester! At this point, you might have the opportunity to become a full-time employee or progress onto a higher level Apprenticeship.
