As an apprentice myself who is nearing the end of my apprenticeship, I have created 5 top tips that I wish I would have known before the hiring process…
1. Be reliable and punctual: Always show up on time and be dependable. This will help you build trust with your colleagues and supervisors.
2. Be enthusiastic and willing to learn: Approach every task with a positive approach, attitude, and a willingness to learn. This will help you stand out and make a good impression.
3. Get to know your colleagues: Take the time to get to know your colleagues and build relationships with them. This will help you feel more comfortable in your work environment and make it easier to collaborate on projects, it’s also a great way to build your communication skills.
4. Plan and prioritise: Balancing workloads alongside studying for a professional qualification can be challenging. It’s important to plan and prioritise your tasks to ensure that you’re able to meet all of your deadlines.
5. Reflect on your progress: Take time to reflect on your progress and identify areas where you need to improve. Don’t be afraid to ask for valuable feedback, this will help you develop your skills and become a better apprentice!
