Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS)

The Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) is an online service account, designed to help employers access funding for apprenticeships, training providers, and the new apprenticeship standards.

This online service gives employers full control over funding, allowing them to choose the set of apprenticeships that they want to run, the number of apprenticeships they can take up, and the best training provider that suits their needs.

Employers can register an account at Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS), in order to view and access the ready-to-deliver apprenticeship standards. After the registration, employers can access all the training providers and the available funding for apprenticeship training.

Funding for non-levy employers

From the 1st of April 2021, reservation levels were reset for non-levy employers. Employers are now able to reserve up to 10 new reservation funds for new apprentices during 2021-2022. The reservation period is extending from 3 months to 6 months. Non-levy employers will be given the flexibility and reassurance to reserve funds up to 6 months before an apprenticeship will begin.

Funding for levy employers

If you are a Levy paying  employer (annual payroll above £3,000,000), then your organisation’s levy contributions fund the apprenticeship, here, you can read more about levy funding. Most levy employers are already set up on the DAS platform and the login/access credentials may be administered by your payroll or similar finance department.

How to Open a Digital Apprenticeship Services Account:

Employers’ Levy funds are based on the amounts that they declare to HMRC through Pay-As-You-Earn schemes.

Step 1 > To simplify the registration process, NowSkills can send you a tailored invitation link to speed up the process. Please request a registration link from your NowSkills point of contact or send an email to our DAS support team das.support@nowskills.co.uk
  • Watch: Employer tutorial on how to set up an employer DAS account once they have received the email invitation from NowSkills: View tutorial

Step 2 > Non levy employers must reserve apprenticeship funding in their DAS account to add an apprentice.

Employers can grant NowSkills access to manage funding reservations from within their DAS account if they wish to do so.
