What is the Digital Apprenticeship Service?
The Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) is a web platform from the ESFA designed to help apprentice employers control their apprenticeship account including current apprentices, adding new apprentices, payments to training providers, funding reservations and claiming incentive payments. Employers must have a DAS account to employ apprentices. Register or Login here
Levy or non-levy employer?
If you are a Levy paying employer (annual payroll above £3,000,000), then your organisation’s levy contributions fund the apprenticeship, here, you can read more about levy funding. Most levy employers are already set up on the DAS platform and the login/access credentials may be administered by your payroll or similar finance department.
If you are a non-levy employer (annual payroll below £3,000,000), when you can access your DAS account, you are able to make 10 funding reservations (correct at May 2021), these reservations can be used to fund apprenticeship training. Here, you can read more about non levy funding.
How to set up your DAS account
Important: You will need your employer Government Gateway login details or PAYE reference details to complete set up.

Step 2 > Non levy employers must reserve apprenticeship funding in their DAS account to add an apprentice.
Employers can grant NowSkills access to manage funding reservations from within their DAS account if they wish to do so.

To add NowSkills learners you will need the following information
- NowSkills Limited UKPRN – 10040775
- The Funding Band for your Apprentice: This is on your signed Apprenticeship Training Service Agreement (ATSA).
- Details of your Apprentice: Name
